That’s life! Readers give a Bra–tastic Boost to Charity!!

21 July 2011

Thousands of women in Africa have been given an uplifting boost thanks to readers of that’s life!, one of the UK’s leading women’s weekly magazines.

that’s life!  Editor Sophie Hearsey was overwhelmed by the response when she asked readers  of her mag to delve deep into their drawers in support of ‘Bra Bank’ a charity initiative supplying much needed underwear to women in Africa. Touched by the plight of bra-less women working long days without vital support, that’s life! readers responded to their magazine’s call for support with a good old cup clear out and donated their bras in their thousands.

Editor Sophie says ”This campaign obviously caught the imagination of our readers, within days the that’s life!  office was inundated with mountains of bras in all shapes, colours and sizes as readers sent in their bras by the trolley full.   A huge thanks to all our readers for their bra-illiant response!”

This week’s issue of “that’s life! on sale from Thursday 21 July, follows the amazing trek of 10,000 readers’ bras from the that’s life! offices in London through to the remote villages in Kenya where local women were delighted to try them out for size.
